About the opportunity 
 
The Assistant Branch Manager will play a crucial role in both strategic and operational management, ensuring efficient branch operations and customer satisfaction. This position is well-suited for an individual with excellent leadership skills, a proven track record of operational excellence, and strong stakeholder engagement to drive profitability and enhance service quality. 

Responsibilities 

• Assist with contracting local suppliers and ensure their compliance with Discova’s quality and Health & Safety requirements.  

• Source and onboard qualified local guides and regularly review their performance.  

• Handle local administrative tasks, including Social Security Office (SSO) processes, tax receipts, and payments.  

• Ensure compliance with local regulations and company policies. 

• Represent Discova Laos in meetings and engagements with both private sector partners and government authorities.  

• Act as a local point of contact for internal teams and external stakeholders. 

• Effectively lead and maintain collaboration and relationships with other Discova departments.  

• Manage the resolution of major operational issues and ensure 24/7 support for on-the-ground complaints. 

• Update tour costing and ensure trips are running according to budget and profitability. 

• Conduct regular assessments of supplier services and experiences to ensure excellent quality.   

About You  

• At least 3 years of experience in tourism operations or experience in leading teams in the tourism and hospitality industry. 

• A degree in tourism and hospitality is an advantage. 

• Fluent writing and speaking skills in Lao and the English Language.
