About the Team:
Paymatters is part of the Commercial Finance department, which is composed of several teams, including Group Accounting, Europe Supply Commercial Support, Payroll, and CT and GBS Accounting. The Paymatters team handles the processing and administration of payroll, pensions, shares, benefits, and HR changes to contracts, movers, onboarding starters and offboarding leavers. Paymatters also oversee P11Ds, payroll general ledger accounts, and salary sacrifices. Additionally, the team serves as the company's main point of contact for any payroll, pension and benefits-related questions or problems.
About the role:
In order to make sure that Paymatters fulfils all of its obligations, including payroll, pensions, shares, benefits, and HR contract modifications, as well as onboarding and offboarding processing, movers, the accuracy of personnel data held, customer focus, and process efficiency, this role will collaborate closely and flexibly with other team members.
The role will require the payroll specialist to operate as subject matter experts across the function and processes, with a deep understanding of end-to-end process flows, be able to trouble shoot and resolve queries. A key aspect of the role will be that of problem solving.By being a payroll subject matter expert, the payroll specialist should be able to ensure that the processes are robust, streamlined and limit inaccuracies and errors.
The role will have the following focus:
- Ensure all key controls are in place and fit for purpose
- Personnel data is accurately and securely stored
- A strong working relationship with the finance teams to ensure seamless and accurate payroll submissions
- Ensure appropriate SLAs are in place and the team deliver on its commitments to front end businesses and their consultants
- Individually and collectively drive a heightened level of customer focus in all dealings with front end businesses
Essential Qualifications Required:
- Payroll qualifications required. E.g. CIPP Payroll Specialist Certificate -Level Four or equivalent qualifications e.g. Pearson BTEC Level 4 Certificate in Payroll Supervision
- A clear understanding of payroll legislation, pension and benefits laws, taxes and PAYE procedures
- Mathematical skills for calculating taxes, national insurance contributions and pension manually
- Familiarity with general ledger accounting posting, including wage type coding and payroll reconciliation
- Proficient using Microsoft office and payroll software such as Excel with VLOOKUP and ADP IHCM Payroll
- Self-motivation and organisational skills to meet deadline
- Knowledge of GDPR compliance would be advantageous
- Proficiency in the Workday System or prior experience with system migration or integration would be beneficial.
