About The Opportunity...

WhereTo is seeking a talented and creative Senior Product Designer to join our team. WhereTo is a nimble, startup minded team within Flight Centre Travel Group focused on building the next-generation business travel platform that serves two of Flight Centre’s main business travel brands, Corporate Traveller and FCM.

As a Senior Product Designer in the Travel Department, you own design within a collaborative, cross-functional team. You execute projects autonomously, efficiently, and with high quality, ensuring your work is well-thought-out, simple, beautiful, and delightful. You lead design and research initiatives, mentor team members, and contribute to the strategic vision of our products. You have a strong mix of strategic thinking, creativity, business literacy, and hands-on design expertise.

 

Key Responsibilities...

  • Lead the design of user-centric experiences from concept to delivery.
  • Conduct user research, usability testing, and data analysis to inform design decisions.
  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity visual designs that align with brand guidelines and user needs.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, developers, and stakeholders to ensure seamless implementation of designs.
  • Advocate for design thinking and foster a culture of innovation within the team.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, tools, and best practices to bring fresh ideas to the table.
  • Mentor junior designers, providing feedback and guidance to elevate the quality of their work

 

Experience & Qualifications...

  • 5+ years of professional experience in product design, with a strong portfolio showcasing user-centered design solutions.
  • Fluency with digital tools used for design (eg. Figma), analytics, research, and team collaboration.
  • Strong understanding of UX/UI principles, design systems, and accessibility standards.
  • Proven experience in conducting user research and translating insights into actionable design solutions.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design rationale clearly.
  • Experience working in agile or cross-functional team environments.
  • A proactive and collaborative mindset with a strong attention to detail.
  • A background designing within the travel industry.
  • The ability to write code or enough knowledge of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to facilitate collaboration with developers.
