Event Travel Consultant
Temporary - 3-Month - Independent Contractor Position - Sabre/GDS Experience Required
Job Purpose: To support the Event Travel Consultants in the execution and reconciliation of event travel.

Experience & Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, communications, hospitality, business, or related field preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Experience in a service-oriented industry with a focus on building and maintaining strong relationships.
- Internships/industry related experience preferred
- Working knowledge of Microsoft programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- Event Management Software: Cvent or similar preferred
- Knowledge of GDS: Sabre or Amadeus preferred
Position Details:

Responsibilities:
- To assist event attendees with booking flights, accommodation, and ground transportation as needed. Ensure that travel is ticketed accurately and adheres to the event travel policies and restrictions. Responsible for booking status of event attendees, ensuring that everyone is booked by the event deadline.
- To liaise between the attendee and meeting planner to receive approval for policy exceptions, special requests, and deviations. Accurately document internal notes in a timely fashion, and format notes in line with meeting management software
- To maintain effective and customer focused communication with all stakeholders.
- To respond to all client and delegate inquiries professionally and within the agreed timeframes and to ensure customer satisfaction with the response.
- To communicate thoroughly internally with lead planners and project team. "
- To assist with both per event admin tasks and business related tasks to keep the business operating.
- To participate in the available training opportunities, directed by your Business Leader.
- To have competency, growth & development top of mind at all times.
- Ensure compliance with federal, and provincial employment laws and regulations, and company policies.
Additional Independent Contractor Information:
- This is a temporary, 3-month, contract/non-employee position, and we anticipate offering an hourly rate of $26.44.
- This role is not eligible for unemployment benefits, workers’ compensation, or other employee-related protections or benefits.
- Required to provide a W-9 form for tax purposes.
