Flight Centre Travel Group are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join a dynamic and established tech-focused division of our company, with flexible/hybrid work options available.

You will be joining a team that specializes in providing affordable flight options to our customers through partnerships with flight search engines such as Google Flights, Skyscanner & Kayak. We are in an exciting growth period and are looking to attract team members who are passionate about their own growth and expanding the reach of the brand globally.

We have a small, high performing onshore team and are supported by an exceptional offshore team in Jakarta. Although we have our team offshore, we are also focused on continuous improvement through automation.

This role offers considerable flexibility, with a mixture of work from home/work from the office hours available. Our Gold Coast office is located just one block away from the picturesque Broadbeach.

 

What you'll do

  • Preparing and reviewing high volume revenue reconciliations
  • Assistance in overseeing the work undertaken by our offshoring team
  • Month end close and preparation of financial reporting and analysis
  • Monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations.
  • Provide assistance to external auditors at reporting periods
  • Assisting with forecasting and budgeting
  • Assisting with the preparation of tax returns and other compliance requirements
  • Fixed Asset Reconciliations
  • Review Intercompany transactions and eliminations
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, relevant accounting standards and FCL minimum standards for financial systems and processes.
  • Support the Financial Controller in driving and implementing key strategic initiatives.
  • Design management reports effectively capturing key business indicators.
  • Constantly look to improve efficiencies within finance workflow processes
  • Assist with the implementation of systems and process improvement initiatives

 

Your skills and qualifications

  • At least 3 years' experience in Finance, Accounting, Commerce or similar.
  • Completed Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce or similar or studying towards.
  • Working towards CPA or CA Qualified highly desirable.
  • Intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong technical knowledge.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to develop relationships at all levels.
  • Proven teamwork skills.
  • High degree of flexibility and ability to deal with change, growth and fast paced environments
