We are looking for an Azure Cloud Engineer to join our Supply PM&E division. In this role you will be reporting into the Platform Manager, and working on the automation of our platform, as well as reviewing existing deployment strategies and align them with company best-practice. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced area and work on one of FCTG's key booking platforms. 

 

 

Day to day...

• Drive the design, documentation, and maintenance of our cloud services in Azure.
• Drive operational efficiencies through automation of repetitive tasks.
• Manage risk by planning and testing disaster recovery scenarios.
• Establish great monitoring practices.
• Work closely with engineers from our digital and consultant commerce teams to ensure that the services are optimised and running at peak performance.
• Provide and implement best practices for DevOps automation and collaborate with the architecture and product teams to build and refine CI/CD processes. 
• Automate cloud deployments, as well as build CI/CD pipeline to support APIM and products deployments.
• Work closely with the wider Flight Centre Travel Group infrastructure & security teams to ensure the environment is protected and to pro-actively reduce the attack surface of all Azure resources.
• Work as technical lead in the Azure space.
• Manage our Azure Cloud Infrastructure subscriptions within the relevant Flight Centre Tenant.
• Improving efficiency by automating all aspects of cloud infrastructure, testing and code deployment.
• Design, build efficient, testable and maintainable cloud solutions.
• Analyse business requirements and problem solve to create the right solutions for our customers.
• Be a participant in the global engineering community improving our practice across the company.

 

 

You'll be perfect for the role if you have...

This is a hands-on role, requiring in-depth knowledge of Azure Infrastructure

• 5+ years' experience in a DevOps role across production critical environments in medium to large enterprise and multi-vendor environments.
• Strong experience in managing cloud infrastructure, mandatory to have Azure.
• Strong experience in performing all infrastructure activities in Microsoft Azure environment in a complex enterprise environment supporting provisioning Microsoft Azure platform, identity, network, server, firewall, load balancer, DNS, monitoring & logging.
• Experience in managing the lifecycle of cloud resources such as Azure Kubernetes Service, CosmosDB, SQL Server (PaaS), App Services (Functions and Web Apps), Azure Redis Cache, Log Analytics and Application Insights, VMSS, API Management, Key Vaults and more.
• Strong experience building CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions and Azure Pipelines.
• Hands-on experience building solutions from cloud components using tools like Terraform, Ansible, etc. 
• Expertise in cloud security and identity best practices.
• Experience in creating cloud cost models and running cloud readiness assessments.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Bicep, CloudFormation, or CDK.
