The Senior Engineer role in our Enterprise Technology Services - Unified Communications team will play a crucial role in providing technical direction and engineering expertise to our Unified Communications product / project teams. Our mission over the next 2 years is to standardise our legacy telephony platforms around the globe. We are looking for a team member with experience in Unified Communications platforms to help support the delivery of our vision and to help drive the implementation of additional digital channel capability into our voice platforms.

As the Senior Engineer in our Unified Communications product team, you will work closely with the Enterprise Technology Services team as well as the broader Flight Centre Travel Group business representatives. Your expert knowledge, ability to problem solve and consulting skills will be critical to succeeding in this role.

The Enterprise Technology Services (ETS) team is a shared service Technology team that supports and maintains the Networks, Digital Workspace (End User Compute), Unified Communications, Hybrid Cloud and Productivity and Collaboration services across Flight Centre Travel Group globally.

Day in the life:

  • Work closely with a dedicated project team to manage the migrations off our legacy telephony systems onto Genesys & Cisco Webex calling.
  • Work to ensure there is limited impact to our business / customers during a platform migration
  • Identify automation opportunities & implement accordingly
  • Design and implementation of call flows
  • Advanced telephony troubleshooting experience
  • Work with the UCaaS partners to oversee and manage the migration of phone services and numbers
  • Work with vendors to find solutions to technical and business problems
  • Provide input on solutions being recommended and work with the technical teams to implement and optimise these solutions to ensure that business objectives have been met.
  • Analyse existing systems and operations and develop preventative maintenance strategies
  • Plan, schedule and monitor work, to meet time and quality targets
  • Facilitate collaboration between stakeholders who share common objectives
  • Understand the importance of security of own work and the operation of the organisation
  • Highlight risks to the business.
  • Communicate complex information to a non-technical audience
  • Provide some 3rd level support to implemented solutions

 

You'll be perfect for the role if you have:

  • Proven experience in communications management including IP Telephony development and administration, using leading (UCaaS)technologies within a large organisation with geographically disperse sites
  • Demonstrable high level of technical expertise with Voice Technologies
  • Proven experience in project / product delivery role for Unified Communications solutions
  • Experience working in a troubleshooting environment focusing on time critical and customer impacting challenges
  • Experience and certification within the Genesys Cloud environment

 

You'll earn brownie points with:

  • Experience with the following platforms: Cisco Voice platforms, NiceCXone, Avaya CM and Vonage 

 

This role is supporting Global customers, platforms and projects, flexibility outside of regular work hours will be required sometimes.
