Job Purpose: 

The Senior DevOps Engineer is a skilled Software Developer usually work closely with Software Engineers to help them deploy and operate different systems. Other tasks would be focusing on how to automate and streamline company's operations and processes.

The DevOps engineer build, test and maintain the infrastructure and tools to allow for the speedy development and release of software.

 

To be successful in this role, you will need extensive knowledge of programming languages and the software development life cycle.

Responsibilities: 

• Ongoing monitoring of the organization's digital architecture, checking for performance and compliance
• Working with development teams on the building of websites, applications, and software pieces and planning the evolution of software.
• Keeping up with the management of internal databases
• Working to resolve issues and problems with systems and software, and to put in place measures to ensure these issues do not reoccur.
• Working with planning departments to get software and systems up and running in a timely manner and ensuring long-term scalability for the business.
• Developing digital infrastructure and working on automated code to improve efficiency and reduce risk.
• Building frameworks for software and application deployment
• Building platform environments to support auto-scaling for the business in the future.
• Staying on top of industry best practices and trends, as well as changes to compliance requirements
• understanding the needs of stakeholders and conveying this to developers
• working on ways to automate and improve development and release processes.
• identifying technical problems and developing software updates and ‘fixes’
• planning out projects and being involved in project management decisions.
• Understanding customer requirements and project KPIs
• Implementing various development, testing, automation tools, and IT infrastructure
• Planning the team structure, activities, and involvement in project management activities.
• Managing stakeholders and external interfaces
• Defining and setting development, test, release, update, and support processes for DevOps operation
• Have the technical skill to review, verify, and validate the software code developed in the project.
• Encouraging and building automated processes wherever possible
• Identifying and deploying cybersecurity measures by continuously performing vulnerability assessment and risk management
• Strive for continuous improvement and build continuous integration, continuous development, and constant deployment pipeline (CI/CD Pipeline)
• Mentoring and guiding the team members.

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering or relevant field required.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in software industry in either development or build and release in Java, .NET environment, Web Services / WCF / Web API.
• Professional program certification in .net, ASP.net, C#, Javascript, HTML5, XML, Json are strongly preferred
• Should have hands on and good understanding on DevOps tools and automation framework. Experience with Build, Deployment and CI tools such as GIT, TFS Vnext, Bamboo, Jenkins, Maven, Gradle.
• A working understanding of code must be proficient with scripting languages such as Python, Ruby, Groovy.
• Experience with automation/tools configuration management using either Chef, Docker or an equivalent, focusing on faster provisioning, reliability and consistency.
• Experience with API integration with CICD tools.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills. Proactive and self-motivated – willing to improve on existing processes to allow for faster iterations.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where iterative changes may need to go out in rapid succession.
• Experience developing customized code for multiple projects simultaneously.
• Knowledge in MVC model and .net core.
• Knowledge in VSS, TFS, SVN.
• Knowledge in MSSQL, MySQL, and Mongo db.
