As the Technical Product Manager in our Digital Platforms team you'll ensure that our technical platforms meet customer and business needs. You will partner with business stakeholders within our Product Managment and Engineering (PM&E) Leisure division to describe technical capabilities and identify gaps, working closely with cross-functional delivery teams to develop roadmaps that support current and future business needs.
Our Digital Platforms team works on our customer facing mobile apps and websites for our global brands like Flight Centre, Travel Associates, and others. Day to day:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Uncover and understand customer and business needs
- Align technical platforms to customer and business needs
- Partner with delivery teams to develop technical roadmaps
- Train and develop stakeholders on a technical platform
- Assess the market for platforms and solutions
- Benchmark internal platforms against external offerings
PLATFORM LEADERSHIP
- Lead the product lifecycle for a technical platform
- Serve as a product evangelist and subject matter expert for a technical platform
- Assess and benchmark technical platforms in the market against current capabilities
- Define the strategy for a technical platform
- Develop technical roadmaps that evolve platforms to meet current and future customer and business needs
- Generate and share ideas that improve customer experience and support business growth
- Define the vision and strategy for a technical platform.
TECHNICAL PRODUCT MANAGEMENT
- Gain a deep understanding of customer and business needs
- Identify and address platform capability gaps
- Define and track objectives and key results (OKRs) for a platform
- Collect and incorporate feedback into a platforms’ roadmap
- Collaborate and communicate with Product Directors and stakeholders on key platform metrics
You'll be perfect for the role if you have:
- 4+ years professional experience in a technical product management role
- Previous experience working with cross-functional delivery teams
- Previous experience in an engineering role
- Experience delivering large and complex initiatives
- Experience within travel or other internet-scale environments
- Strong understanding of the travel or retail industry
