As the Solution Architecture Practice Manager will lead a dynamic team of permanent, contract and partner Solution Architects for Enterprise Technology Services (ETS) division of Flight Centre Travel Group. In this role you will establish and embed robust methods and processes, ensuring alignment with Enterprise and Domain Architecture standards. You will partner with all business stakeholders, IT teams and vendors to deliver high quality technology solutions that meet and exceed the business needs.

 

Day in the life:

Solution Design and Architecture

  • Ensure the delivery of end-to-end solutions that meet business requirements and align with enterprise and domain architectures.
  • Lead the standardisation of architecture practice and rollout effective methods


Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Work with business stakeholders to understand their needs and match resource demand
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and the Portfolio Management Office (PMO) to develop a strategic portfolio of work


People Leadership

  • Provide people leadership to a team of permanent, contractor and partner architects and manage a flexible resource pool to meet ever changing demand
  • Coach the team to embed good architecture practice and lift its maturity


Technology Leadership

  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to development and infrastructure teams
  • Assess emerging technologies and provide recommendations to support organisational goals

Governance and Standards

  • Ensure solutions comply with enterprise architecture principles, security standards, and IT governance
  • Maintain architecture documentation and support architectural review processes


Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve system performance, reliability, and maintainability
  • Contribute to IT strategic planning and road-mapping activities.

 

Role requirements: 

 

  • 10+ years in IT architecture with proven expertise in solution design, integration, and implementation
  • 5 years leading IT teams in a large corporate environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Experience with a model-based approach to architecture (e.g. Archimate)
  • TOGAF, AWS/Azure Solution Architect, ITIL, or relevant industry certifications
  • Strong knowledge of principles such as design thinking.
  • Broad knowledge of IT technologies and vendors, coupled with the ability to promote and explain new developments to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
  • Strong business acumen
  • Experience in developing and implementing an Information and Communications Technology (ICT) strategy
