Purpose

The Accounts Payable Operations Lead plays a critical role in managing and optimising business operations within the Accounts Payable team. This role focuses on aligning strategic goals with operational execution to hold
the Processing and Payments Team leaders accountable and empowering excellence to what we do. Working closely with the Head of Accounts Payable in collaboration and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. This role requires strong leadership, analytical, and organisational skills to ensure business objectives are met efficiently and
effectively.

 

Day to day you’ll be… 

  • Plan, direct, and coordinate Accounts Payable operations to align with company Goals and SLA’s.
  • Establish and maintain operational standards and governance frameworks to work towards a ‘One Best Way’ for Global Business Services.
  • Collaborate with Head of Accounts Payable and Team Leaders to develop and implement business strategies.
  • Assess current processes, structures, and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
  • Align People Strategies to Operational Strategies working in partnership with Team Leaders and Head of Accounts Payable
  • Lead the Processing and Payments Team Leaders and ensure assigned work and targets are achievable and leaders are held accountable
  • Ensure accuracy of data captured and SLA’s adhered to
  • Pull reports on Aged Chargebacks and drive clearance
  • Manage the aged supplier creditor balances and resolve outstanding invoices
  • Collaborate with offshore partner and Cognizant FTL Trainer on shared invoice processing tasks
  • Process Improvement
  • Ad-hoc projects to continually improve the team processes, controls, and quality of work to ensure teams are processing in a timely manner and to a high standard.
  • Investigate and implement new processes as per best practice to address problems.
  • Manage documented process notes and update onshore teams
  • Knowledge of your stakeholders and importance to maintain strong stakeholder relationships i.e., Suppliers, Offshore partners, and Travel Managers with proactive clear communication. Addressing any issues to the Head of Accounts Payable and Cognizant FTL Trainer
  • Identify any trends or areas of concern to Head of Accounts Payable and take corrective action to mitigate Financial/Operational risks
  • Provide timely and accurate query resolution
  • Escalate all team member or leader challenges to Head of Account Payable

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in an accounts payable role
  • Travel industry experience
  • Excellent communication, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritise workload
