Purpose

The Assistant Team Leader for the Financial Accounting team is required to have significant knowledge across the business performing various specialised tasks. This role requires someone who has a strong attention to detail, initiative to resolve issues and create efficiencies, strong time management skills and flexibility to an ever-changing environment. This role is responsible for partnering with the wider Accounting team, working on supporting offices/stores and operations improvement initiatives.

 

 

 

Day to day you’ll be… 

  • Support Financial Accounting team, including developing the skills of the accountants
  • Track and make payments to both internal and external stakeholders;
  • Reconciliations, including bank account, accounts payable and receivable
  • Banking/treasury tasks including ad hoc invoice payments
  • Track and process internal transactions
  • Expense claims; Gift Card processing and reconciliations
  • Prepare monthly Profit and Loss and Balance Sheet, including balance sheet reconciliations and clean up
  • Assist with audit workpaper compilation and queries
  •  Ensure compliance with company policies, relevant accounting standards and FCL minimum standards for financial systems and processes
  • Improve efficiencies within finance workflow processes
  • Assist with the implementation of systems and process improvement initiatives
  • Assist stakeholders with their financial queries.

 

 

 

We’d love to hear from you if you have… 

  • Completed Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce or similar or studying towards.
  • CPA or CA Qualified highly desirable.
  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Strong technical knowledge.
  • At least 2 years' experience in Finance, Accounting, Commerce or similar.
