Opportunity on offer

 

This is a great an opportunity to work within Transactional Finance across our Leisure businesses and reporting to the Global Head of Leisure Transactional Finance, you will also work closely with broad areas of the business such as other Transactional Finance teams, Leisure Technology and Project team, Leisure Operations and of course Leisure Finance. The role will be based in South Bank, QLD. (Onsite)

 

The immediate focus of this position is to manage the day-to-day bank reconciliation of our Australia leisure stores operating on our Omnis Client mid-office system. This includes product ownership of the associated bank reconciliation tools and working with other stakeholders to increase accuracy and system stability. Next would be to collaborate with the Leisure Technology and Project team (and others) on the upgrade and/ or enhancements and/ or replacement of our bank reconciliation tools. You would also collaborate on other projects that optimise processes and workflows, ensuring seamless integration from front-end operations to finance outcomes, and to drive efficiencies and foster innovation in financial processes to meet the growing needs of our Leisure brands.

 

To be successful in this role you need to be passionate about operational excellence and have a desire to learn end to end workflows in detail, not just finance but from the start of the transaction within front end operations.

 

The role will have the following focus

  • Ensure all key controls are in place and fit for purpose
  • Ensure appropriate and robust reconciliation processes are embedded
  • Individually and collectively drive a heightened level of customer focus in all dealings with front end businesses, external clients and suppliers
  • Establish the appropriate communication channels and ensure they are operating effectively to ensure Transactional Finance is delivering on its commitments to Operations

 

Performance Objectives required to be successful in this position

 

Operational Excellence

  • Gain a good understanding of our mid-office systems and processes
  • Obtain a solid understanding of our bank reconciliation tools and processes
  • Day-to-day management of the bank reconciliation for our Australia leisure stores operating on our Omnis Client mid-office system
  • Ensure all processes are thoroughly documented and where applicable are communicated to the offshore partners
  • Review processes and work alongside other the support functions to ensure they are compliant and adherence to polices and legislation such as data security, privacy, PCI, tax, and relevant accounting standards 
  • Identify which processes could be eliminated / automated / consolidated / centralised/ streamlined

 

Financial Control

  • Become proficient in Finance systems
  • Providing accurate and timely reporting
  • Understand company accounting policies and Balance sheet standards

 

 Leadership

  • Be able to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Provide support to the Global Head of Leisure Transactional Finance
  • Support in providing day-to-day leadership to our offshore partners
  • Actively contribute to the wellbeing and direction of the wider transactional finance team
  • Lead by example in reinforcing the company and Finance’s core values, principles and culture

  • A keen desire to learn new things, problem solve and a passion and aptitude for process reengineering
  • Strong communication skills, both spoken and written, with an ability to communicate with finance and non-finance individuals
  • Experience of having worked in transactional finance and a qualified accountant (CIMA, CPA or equivalent), with relevant degree
  • Salary on offer: $85k-95k Plus Super based on experience
