About the Opportunity

The role of a Business Analyst is to oversee multiple FCTG business streams and systems while also serving as the product owner for Sabre Automation Hub. The purpose of this role is to work with key stakeholders across the Flight Centre Brand network to both maintain the existing suite of automation rules and to drive implementation of new tools from the automation suite.

Beyond the Sabre Automation Hub responsibilities the BA role will assist with various projects within the Global Retail Commerce space.

What you will be doing:

In this role it is required to interact with various teams and stakeholders within the company to analyse, understand, document, and assess complex business requirements to then design, develop and advise solutions in the following key areas. This is often in relation to (but not exclusively) Air and GDS processes.

1. Business Process Improvement:

  • Consult with business managers, project managers, and various stakeholders to identify and analyse pain points and opportunities
  • Interpret complex requirements and provide objective assessments with actionable ideas to refine business processes
  • Design plans to enhance efficiency, streamline operations, and reduce costs
  • Employ best practice in process development and deployment (e.g. A/B testing, UAT protocols)

2. Knowledge Management:

  • Manage and maintain internal Knowledge Management Systems (KMS), including Confluence, with rules and operational procedures for programs implemented
  • Define and enforce document and content control, library architecture, naming conventions, and styles for KMS

3. Process and Policy Design:

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs), trainers, and change managers to ensure adherence to Global Best Practice methodology for messaging and content
  • Standardise messaging and content both internally and for customers

4. Internal and External Stakeholder Communication:

  • Continuously improve internal and external stakeholder communication practices
  • Align business stream communication channels to enhance collaboration and efficiency
  • Utilise appropriate products to meet communication and collaboration requirements
  • Work with stakeholders to achieve adoption targets

5. Reporting and Analytics:

  • Utilise CRM and BI software, such as Salesforce, Power BI, and C1, to design and develop reporting and analytics solutions for sales and productivity
  • Advise on data collection, integration, and analysis from multiple sources to meet business requirements

6. Task Automation (Sabre Automation Hub):

  • Act as the product owner for Sabre Automation Hub application for Flight Centre Brand globally
  • Maintain and enhance existing Sabre Automation Hub workflows or subsequent processes
  • Provide support for queries and issues related to Sabre Automation Hub
  • Use Sabre Automation Hub and other automation tools to simplify and streamline administrative workflows and integrations

The Essentials:

  • Project experience in Automation projects (either supporting or directly implementing automation processes)
  • GDS expertise: proficiency in Sabre Global Distribution System (GDS) is essential, including in-depth knowledge of its functionalities, interfaces, and associated technologies. A Sabre GDS business analyst should be adept at navigating and utilising the platform to extract, analyse, and interpret relevant data

Added advantage:

  • Bachelor's degree/Diploma in business or related field of study
  • Three years+ of experience in a related field
  • Travel industry domain experience
  • Experience in other GDS systems (e.g. Amadeus)
