Moneywise Tax is a boutique tax practice, embedded within the Flight Centre Travel Group (FCTG) business, dedicated to helping travel industry professionals with their tax planning and annual tax returns. Moneywise Tax offers the full suite of Tax and Accounting Services. Apart from preparing individual tax returns we also specialise in returns for sole traders, entities, multiple year tax returns, tax structuring, tax advice and business services. The team also offers broader advice on investment strategies and tax planning.

Moneywise Tax has reached near optimum engagement with the FCTG Australian employee base and the challenge now is to grow business externally, as well as retain and further grow internal opportunities.  The Senior Tax Accountant works within a permanent team of 5, growing seasonally with casual payroll, and with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage compliance and ATO lodgements for Individuals, Companies, Trusts & Partnerships, IASs, BASs individually and across the team.
  • Preparation and review of tax returns for Individuals, Trusts, Companies & Partnerships
  • Review of financial statements, income tax work papers.
  • Provide tax advice for individuals and businesses
  • Lodgement of tax documents and statements with the ATO
  • Project work as directed by the Commercial Manager
  • Assistant with reporting for the Tax Team based on productivity, compliance, training
  • Monitor industry developments, trends and key players and research opportunities to develop new initiatives, provide advice and implement solutions.
  • Manage and assist with regulatory requirements and compliance reporting obligations.
  • Ensure process and procedures minimise risk of loss to Moneywise, Flight Centre Travel Group and all stakeholders
  • Provide outstanding service to internal businesses and external suppliers.
  • Build strong relationships and fosters effective interaction at all times

Key Skills and Requirements

  • Minimum 2 to 4 years’ experience in preparation of tax returns and financial statements and advice relating to all entities and individuals
  • Completed your CA or CPA
  • Must be registered tax agent
  • Understanding of Taxation regulatory environment and associated checks and controls required with explicit ownership and focus to ensure no breaches
  • Self-starter able to manage strict deadlines and respond to changing priorities
  • Enthusiastic team player with strong work ethic and willingness to learn
  • Professional and friendly with internal and external partners and suppliers
  • Strong understanding of the Taxation industry in Australia and the business models
  • Excellent attention to detail with ability to question assumptions, challenge and understand underlying facts
  • Self-starter able to manage strict deadlines and respond to changing priorities
