About The Opportunity...

We are seeking an Mobile Engineer with an active oriented mindset and a focus on building a quality team and product. In this role, you will report to the Mobile Engineering Team Lead and assist in the planning and delivery of projects, communicate progress, milestones, and roadblocks to stakeholders and management, and will empower the engineers on those teams to make the largest impact possible for company goals while also reaching their professional development goals.
 
 
 
 
Key Responsibilities...
  • Work with Engineering Management, Operations Team, and Product Team to develop and execute domain team objectives and strategies.
  • Communicate progress, roadblocks, concerns, and successes to engineering management.
  • Advocate on behalf of team needs such as addressing technical debt or improving infrastructure.
  • Provide technical advice/ guidance for code reviews, enforcing best practices across the team.
  • Provide mentorship to junior engineers.
  • Able to pick and choose technologies and weigh their pros and cons to solve problems.
  • Facilitate gathering requirements and/or alleviating blockers from other domain teams.
  • Willingness to adjust work hours to suit wider team based in North America.

 

 
Experience & Qualifications...
  • 4+ years professional software development experience (internships and personal projects not included).
  • 4+ years experience with React-Native.
  • Experience with state containers (i.e Redux, Alt, Flux).
  • Experience with modern JavaScript (ES6, Babel, FlowType and/or TypeScript, Webpack).
  • JavaScript testing experience (Jest, etc.).
  • Experienced in Agile development, TDD / BDD, and is able to iterate quickly.
  • Strong understanding of Git fundamentals.
  • Experience with pure-functional programming is a bonus (Lo-Dash FP, etc.).
  • Knowledge of Native iOS/Android platforms and build processes.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Knowledge of React/Typescript best practices.
  • Experience with analytics libraries (i.e. Mixpanel).
  • Knowledge and experience in the travel industry is a plus.
  • NodeJS Experience is a plus.
