About the Opportunity

We’re excited to announce a new opportunity to join Flight Centre Travel Group's (FCTG) Supply team in a pivotal role within our Cruise & Tour, Car, and Ancillary contracting space. As a Cruise & Tour, Car, and Ancillary Strategist, you will be at the forefront of developing and implementing strategies to maximise the contribution to our Australian Cruise & Tour, Car, and Ancillary contracts. Your expertise will help drive performance through consultant incentives, marketing campaigns, recognition of sales to FCTG contracts, and product collaboration.

Working closely with FCTG's Australian brands and supply partners, the Contract Strategist is an integral position within the Supply division. You will help to create, deliver, and deploy strategies to grow our preferred contracts and sales. Your key responsibility is to drive our contracts through involvement in consultant incentives, marketing campaigns, product collaboration, recognition of sales to FCTG contracts, product knowledge and overall execution of the Supply strategy.

This role is ideal for those with a strong knowledge of our Cruise & Tour, Car, and Ancillary products, and a history of building and growing both internal and external relationships. You will focus on boosting profitability by identifying opportunities and creating strategies to enhance contract return and ensuring recognition of sales onto FCTG contracts.

Candidates must be based in Brisbane, or willing to relocate.

 

In this role you will:

  • Develop and execute strategies to grow preferred Cruise & Tour, Car, and Ancillary contracts
  • Work closely with FCTG's internal brands to enhance sales and awareness
  • Foster strong relationships with Cruise & Tour, Car, and Ancillary partners and key stakeholders
  • Support the sourcing and development of competitive products for all brands
  • Drive marketing campaigns and consultant engagement initiatives
  • Manage day-to-day relationships with supply partners at various levels
  • Help ensure FCTG’s wholly owned and independent agents are correctly set-up with our Cruise & Tour, Car, and Ancillary suppliers and as a result reporting and sales are correctly attributed to FCTG

 

About you:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in air travel, support, retail, and/or consolidation
  • Experience in product management and/or product strategy within the travel industry preferred
  • Thorough understanding of Cruise & Tour, Car, and Ancillary products
  • Previous/current front-line experience is not mandatory, but is welcomed
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good knowledge and use of Excel
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and drive collaborative success
  • Self-directed and proactive
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in a related field desirable

 

Hours: Normal Monday to Friday office hours -  due to the global nature of our business, flexibility to work outside of standard hours may be required occasionally to accommodate meetings across different time zones

 

What you will need:

  • Knowledge of various collection techniques
  • Previous experience with administration of billing and reporting activities in response to deadlines
  • Strong analytical skills, and demonstrated success using analytics and research to provide insights and design action plans
  • Ability to successfully deliver solutions to agreed quality, time and specification
  • Perform duties independently under general, minimum supervision within specific assignments and ability to work collaboratively when needed
  • Develop, implement, manage and document business and processes, functions, and procedures
  • Demonstrated ability to work with the business to achieve business goals
  • Understanding of the processes and relationships between the travel agency and its suppliers
  • Degree/relevant qualification
  • Intermediate skills in MS Excel
  • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally when required
