The Quality Engineer will lead initiatives in assessing and mitigating risks, solving quality challenges, and implementing changes to enhance engineering efficiency. This role involves developing and executing exploratory and automated tests to ensure high product quality while coaching developers on best practices in quality engineering.

 

Primary Accountabilities & Objectives:

  • Create comprehensive test plans, test cases, and acceptance criteria.
  • Develop and maintain automated test cases and frameworks tailored to FCM's products.
  • Drive quality as a shared responsibility across the engineering team.
  • Coordinate with product and engineering teams to prioritize quality throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Coach developers on test automation techniques and quality testing practices.
  • Collaborate on automation initiatives, including data preparation and environment setup.
  • Deliver quality reporting and dashboards to enhance visibility and transparency.
  • Identify and remediate quality and process limitations within engineering workflows.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of test quality by conducting reviews and providing actionable recommendations.
  • Assist with development tasks as required.

Experience:

 

(Essential):

  • 10+ years of experience in software testing and automation.
  • 4+ years of experience with Cypress and Jest for test automation.
  • Proven experience in application, system integration, API, and end-to-end testing.
  • Proficiency with API testing frameworks (e.g., Postman, Cypress).
  • Programming expertise in JavaScript and TypeScript.
  • Experience integrating and maintaining automation tests and quality gates in CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions).
  • Experience in coaching and mentoring team members on quality engineering practices and processes.

 

Desired:

  • Performance testing experience.
  • Familiarity with the Quality Assistance model.
  • ISTQB Certification.
  • Experience with AWS and GitHub Actions pipelines.
  • Knowledge of observability tools (e.g., Splunk for logging, New Relic for monitoring).
