The primary objective of this role is to successfully plan, execute, and close the Core Services project workstream within a multi-year program of work.
 
This role will transform how we manage company and traveler data and profiles, which shape the backbone of our corporate technology operating model. The role will manage technical and non-technical deliverables of the project, with full end-to-end planning and execution accountability.
 
The successful candidate will oversee multiple agile teams, can act as scrum master, and provide agile coaching to team members. They will have a strong delivery background, deep experience with Scaled Agile and other methodologies (Prince2, PMI, PMI-ACP), good analytical skills and lateral thinking, with a collaborative hands-on approach to solving challenges and maximising opportunities to do things better.

 

 

Responsibilities...

  • Develop comprehensive project plans outlining scope, timeline, roadmap, resources, and deliverables.
  • Collaborate proactively with product, technology, and wider business teams to identify and mitigate risks, escalating issues as necessary.
  • Regularly monitor and report project progress to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Work with the team to maintain Scrum and Kanban boards, project schedules and relevant PMO collateral.
  • Work closely with business and product leaders to understand organizational & program goals and translate them into project objectives and metrics, applying Agile practices to adapt to evolving business needs.
  • Align project outcomes with strategic business priorities, ensuring that each project contributes to overall company success.
  • Management of the RAID to identify and mitigate potential risks and issues that may impact project success.
  • Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, including internal teams, external partners, and clients, driving collaboration and customer feedback.
  • Communicate project progress, milestones, and potential roadblocks effectively to keep stakeholders informed and engaged, using showcases & ceremonies for transparency and communication.
  • Implement robust project monitoring mechanisms to track progress against milestones, deliverables and budget.
  • Regularly review and forecast project budgets and timelines, adjusting as needed to ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Establish and enforce quality standards for project deliverables, integrating Agile testing and validation throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Conduct regular quality reviews and implement corrective actions to maintain high standards throughout the project lifecycle.

 

 

Qualifications...

  • Agile and qualifications in Project Management (E.g. PMI, PMI-ACP, Prince2) or Lean related disciplines are mandatory.
  • Proven experience as an agile project leader with a focus on business-driven software engineering projects.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal skills, and stakeholder management. 
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities across a global, matrixed business.
