About the Opportunity

Flight Centre Technology (FCT) is on the lookout for a Finance Systems Account to join the Systems Accounting Solutions (SAS) team.

The SAS team is responsible for the back office finance systems utilised across the Flight Centre Travel Group (FCTG).

 These include the external supported applications:

  • SUN (General Ledger), Oracle and SSRS Reports
  • Q&A (Vision XL)
  • Advanced Inquiry & Activa (Fixed Assets)
  • Internally developed applications, including GAS (General Accounting System), Paymentgate (AP), CORE (HR) and Client (mid-office) plus many more

The team is responsible for the support, maintenance and administration of the finance systems, BAU development and project work to deliver systems enhancements for the benefit of the finance community.

Key responsibilities

Customer Service

  • Provide exceptional customer service and finance application support for all tickets raised by global accountants
  • Maintain a professional manner at all times
  • Take ownership of queries received from either another team member or a customer to ensure it is resolved
  • Ensure all queries are acknowledged, resolved or followed up in a timely manner
  • Use problem solving skills to quickly identify and resolve any issues with the finance systems or escalate to other teams when required
  • Maintain the integrity of the data across the back office finance systems
  • Continually review and analyse the support queries to identify areas for improvement

Customer Relationship Management

  • Communication of finance systems issues to the finance community
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with customers (accountants), internal FCT teams and vendors for support issues
  • Administration and Compliance
  • Complete the daily systems administration and maintenance tasks
  • Undertake required activities to ensure FCTG remain PCI compliant and aligned with industry standard best practices (e.g. server patching)
  • Complete the monthly consolidation of group results
  • Support the group budget & forecast processes
  • Communicate system availability & key deadlines to the finance community
  • Assist with preparation for periodic external IT audits
  • Maintenance of annual software licence renewal for SUN and PA applications

Incident and Problem Management

  • Provide timely and quality support, investigation, response, escalation, assistance and resolution to incidents logged
  • Escalate standard incidents in a timely manner to correct FCT team
  • Where a significant or priority 1 incident has come to your attention, within 15 minutes you will log and instigate the major incident management process 
  • Where a significant incident is logged, determining the impact and take incident ownership
  • Acquire timely and relevant incident updates
  • Ensuring that all internal stakeholders are kept informed of the progress of the significant incident
  • Recording comments against the incident as to how the incident was resolved
  • After hours rostered on-call support

Systems Enhancements, Development and Deployment

  • As required, involvement in BAU finance system deploys including:
    • Creating Jira’s for dev work for bug fixes
    • Liaising with developers
    • Specific and regression testing
    • Writing release notes/manual for accountants
    • Creating Change Requests in Service Now
    • Deploy activities with web admins, DBAs and internal stakeholders
    • Communicate changes to the finance community
  • Proactive identification of system issues, enhancements and process improvement opportunities
  • Opportunity to be involved in wider area projects

Documentation and Training

  • Update documentation on alterations to existing systems in knowledge base system (Confluence)
  • Complete training sessions as per FCT minimum training expectations for SAS
  • Involvement in end user and staff training on changed or upgraded finance systems
  • Develop and maintain relevant documentation, including procedures, troubleshooting information, Q & A and other reference material, making it available to the SAS team in Confluence
  • Review items added to the document repository for currency and relevancy
  • Maintain currency of skills relevant to your position, including undertaking work-related study, training or courses, to stay up-to-date with industry standards and best practices

About you:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a corporate IT environment
  • Experience with finance concepts and systems (as outlined), including MS Excel
  • Demonstrated ability to keep up with current technical developments and trends in the information technology industry
  • Experience in ITIL concepts
  • University qualification in Accounting or Information Technology
