Job Purpose

Flight Centre Travel Group's Global Procurement Network (GPN) has a secondment opportunity for an efficient Content Coordinator, to work with the Procurement division and assist in the delivery and maintenance of product for GPN, for a minimum 8 month period, with a view to possibly extend beyond this time. 

This role will ensure that content is entered in the Calypso Reservations system, in an accurate and timely manner. You will also maintain and develop strong long-term relationships with our supplier partners to increase speed to market and maximise availability, whilst ensuring parity, thus maximising the turnover and profits of Flight Centre's global wholesale brands, internal and external. 

Accountabilities

  • Assist proactively with the loading process of accommodation, car rental and other product rates for all GPN distribution systems
  • Assist in proactively managing / maintaining product contracts in accordance with business needs
  • Actively assist in product procurement following best practice procedures
  • Review and preparation of product contracts in accordance with business needs, whilst working to strict product load timelines following best practice procedures
  • Reducing the cost of errors
  • Ensure our preferred product range is strongly supported, communicated and promoted at every opportunity

Skills and Capabilities

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in the travel industry, preferably in a wholesale/product role
  • Strong customer focus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Structured approach and framework for resolving key business problems
  • Solves problems in a timely manner
  • Present clear recommendations to senior management
  • Proactively identify key stakeholder groups
  • Seek input from stakeholders and respond to stakeholder queries
  • Clearly communicate key business outcomes with stakeholders
  • Extensive knowledge of Australian product
  • Assist in developing a strategy and procedures for managing suppliers
  • Assist in the procurement of product whilst working to set timelines in line with wholesale business needs
  • Monitor set targets for preferred supplier performance (financial and non-financial)
  • Monitor all supplier performance on a regular basis
  • Identify, communicate and manage resolution of key issues with suppliers including but not limited to parity issues
  • Day-to-day maintenance of supplier changes, updates and contract amendments following best practices
  • Develop and effectively present coherent, well-structured negotiating positions
  • Build long-term relationships with negotiating partners
  • Computer literate (Calypso, Microsoft Office suite)
