Job Purpose

The Technical Delivery Manager (TDM) – Infrastructure role ensures that all Flight Centre Travel Group (FCTG) infrastructure systems are available and performing as expected.  This role consults / advises on performance and capacity improvements by working with our supplier partners, internal teams and the business, in the delivery of Infrastructure Services. This includes, but is not limited to, servers, storage, backups, Citrix, AV and AD systems on-premises and in the Cloud.

The role focuses on giving the supplier partner technical direction, provide assurance over technology standards and service levels and managing dependencies between the various supplier partners and internal teams. The TDM role needs to also provide opportunities for the supplier partner to bring new technology services, practices and tools to Flight Centre Technology (FCT) where they believe value can be added.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical review of supplier services and solutions, delivery and transition into BAU / Operations through our supplier partners and internal FCT change programs as part of broader strategy
  • Integrates across other TDM’s, suppliers, IT business partners & solution architects
  • Is the technology conduit between the business and supplier’s Technical Delivery Manager or equivalent
  • Facilitate technical forums with suppliers and relevant stakeholders
  • Bridge solution architecture and technical vendor delivery
  • Performs a consultative function to enable our infrastructure platform to scale, adapt and meet business demands
  • Adopts technology standards, best practices and policies
  • Understands interdependencies between infrastructure platform and other systems that rely on those parts of the infrastructure platform
  • Sets priority for work plans and ensures work is completed on time and to agreed budget
  • Assesses change plans and performs impact assessment to mitigate business risk
  • Contributes to incident and problem management across supplier partners and internal FCT teams
  • Maintain compliance posture across systems
  • Maintain licensing posture in conjunction with suppliers and internal FCT teams
  • Maintains documentation to ensure retention of Intellectual Property (IP) including technical diagrams
  • Provides input to disaster recovery, high availability, rapid restoration of services through involvement in business impact assessment and business continuity planning
  • Maintains infrastructure engineer technical knowledge relative to domain expertise i.e. server, storage, backups, Citrix and Active Directory

Qualifications and Experience

  • At least five years’ experience within an enterprise infrastructure environment
  • Experience within an enterprise environment supporting virtual server infrastructure, backups, storage, Citrix and Active Directory
  • Minimum two years’ experience running small projects i.e. the ability to breakdown task, estimate task effort, prioritise tasks, plan and schedule own tasks in the context of planned work where a team contributes to the end result
  • Minimum two years’ experience with Managed Services contracts in an infrastructure context
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Facilitation of architecture reviews and design sessions
  • Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) qualification and/or industry experience
  • Relevant university degree and/or industry qualification
  • Knowledge of travel industry desirable
